Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and it is a meal we look forward to all year long! It is an opportunity to embrace and share traditions established by generations past. One of the best things about Thanksgiving is spending time with family. In addition, traditional foods are a large part of Thanksgiving celebrations. Things like turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes, cornbread, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce.
The best part of Thanksgiving is the leftovers for days! Here are some delicious recipes you can try this year!
Turkey Cranberry Brie Grilled Cheese
2 slices of seedless Rye bread
3-4 slices of roasted turkey breast
3 oz Brie cheese rind cut off, thinly sliced
2 Tbsp cranberry sauce
1. Preheat a medium sauté pan over medium heat and lightly grease it.
2. Place bread in the pan and separate brie slices among the two slices of bread. Let it start melting.
3. Layer turkey breast over one slice of bread and then cranberry sauce on top of turkey.
4. Cover with second slice of bread and press lightly.
5. Finish the grilled cheese until bread is golden and cheese is melted.
Stuffed Sweet Potatoes
2 small sweet potatoes, baked* (about 200 grams each)
1/2-pound leftover turkey
1/4 cup cranberry sauce
handful of fresh spinach
1 tablespoon tahini mixed with cinnamon
– Other toppings options: green bean casserole, gravy, or stuffing
1. Cut a slit lengthwise through the middle of the sweet potato. Gently press in on both ends to allow room for toppings.
2. Divide leftovers among the 2 potatoes, splitting evenly. Drizzle with tahini or gravy.
12 (2 ¾ inch) squares of dough
6 Tbs cranberry sauce
1 egg yolk
1 Tbs heavy cream
1. Arrange squares of dough in cups of a mini-muffin pan. Top each square with 1 1/2 teaspoons cranberry sauce; fold in edges. Freeze for 30 minutes.
2. Beat together egg yolk and cream. Brush tartlets with egg wash; sprinkle with sanding sugar. Bake at 400 degrees until golden, 30 to 35 minutes.
