Fun Ways to Exercise

Do you struggle with motivation to exercise? Committing to any new lifestyle transformation—getting fit, improving yourself, creating more life balance or losing weight. It isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it! Going to the gym and doing the same workout routine can become very boring. We may start the new year off with positive fitness goals, however sometimes it tends to unravel quickly.

Exercising is a very important aspect of our health and well-being. It protects us against cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. It also keeps us youthful, energetic, and in shape. You do not have to do formal exercise to get the benefits. There are tons of ways to make exercise fun! Think outside the box and do new things!

Here are some ways to make working out more enjoyable. >>>

  1. Listen to audiobooks or music.
  2. Take a group class. It helps to have the motivation of the instructor and other classmates.
  3. It is always better to have a workout buddy! It can be hard to motivate yourself on your own but teaming up with a workout partner is a great way to stay accountable.
  4. Go hiking, getting out and about in the great outdoors is a wonderful way to stretch your legs and see some of the state’s amazing scenery.
  5. Go for a walk around your neighborhood with your pup. Running is not for everyone, and that's totally okay. Walking at a fast enough pace to get your heart rate up can be just as effective.
  6. Go rollerblading. Not only can use lose weight through regular rollerblading outings, but you can also work the muscles in your lower body. And it’s fun!
  7. Yoga! Build flexibility, strength, and learn to relax.
  8. Have workout equipment at home? Catch up on your favorite show while riding your exercise bike.
  9. Swimming can still be a very beneficial workout. It gets your heart rate up, but it is not hard on your body. Swimming also works almost every muscle in your body. 
  10. Play a fun sport with friends or family, Exercise flies by when it doesn’t feel like exercise. Get a tennis match, or a softball put together.
